Cancellation Policy

We know plans change. This Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations, rescheduling, no-shows and related refunds are handled by Pondicherry Cabs. Please review it before booking so you understand applicable timelines and fees.

1. Cancellation by Customer

• To cancel a confirmed booking, contact us immediately via WhatsApp or the phone number listed on the booking confirmation.
• Full refund: If cancellation is made at least 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time, no cancellation charge will be applied (unless otherwise stated in a promotional or special booking).
• Partial fee: Cancellations within 24 hours of pickup may incur a cancellation fee — commonly a minimum of ₹300 or the driver allowance (driver bata), whichever is higher.
• After dispatch: If the vehicle has already been dispatched or is en route, cancellation charges equivalent to applicable minimum distance fare + driver bata may apply.

2. Cancellation by Pondicherry Cabs

• On rare occasions (vehicle breakdown, driver emergency, extreme weather), we may need to cancel your booking. In such cases we will:
• Notify you as soon as possible and offer either a full refund of any advance payment or an alternative vehicle of similar class where available.
• Where a suitable alternate cannot be provided, a full refund will be processed promptly to the original payment method.

3. No-Show Policy

• If the driver arrives at the recorded pickup location and the customer does not board the vehicle or respond to calls/messages, the booking will be marked as a No-Show.
• No-shows may be charged a fee equal to the minimum trip fare or driver bata; refunds are typically not provided for confirmed no-shows.
• If there are extenuating circumstances (emergency, communication failure), please contact support immediately — we will review and consider exceptions case-by-case.

4. Rescheduling

• Rescheduling is subject to vehicle availability. If you request a new pickup time or date, charges may vary depending on new timings and distance.
• Rescheduling made with more than 24 hours notice is usually accommodated without penalty; rescheduling within 24 hours may incur charges similar to a late cancellation.

5. Group Bookings & Special Packages

• For group bookings, tours, or customized packages, cancellation terms may differ and will be specified at the time of booking.
• Special event bookings may require a non-refundable deposit as communicated during booking confirmation.

6. Refund Timelines

• Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days, depending on your payment method and the banking process.
• For cash payments, refunds will be processed via bank transfer or other mutually agreed method.

7. How to Cancel

To cancel a booking quickly:

• Use the WhatsApp number in your booking confirmation to message us with your booking ID and cancellation request.
